Get the latest information on creating a skincare routine for sensitive skin
Sensitive skin is a common skin type characterized by a lowered resistance to irritants, so it may be more prone to inflammation, redness, dryness and itching.
If you have sensitive skin, it’s important to take care of it with a skincare routine that is tailored specifically for your needs. This means avoiding harsh chemicals and ingredients that can cause irritation, as well as washing your face gently and moisturizing regularly.
With the right products and precautions, you can keep your sensitive skin looking healthy and radiant!
Understand what sensitive skin is
Sensitive skin is a condition that affects many people. It can be caused by a variety of factors, including genetics, environmental factors, such as wind or sun, or by products that you use on your skin.
Some people have sensitive skin because they are allergic to certain ingredients, while others have sensitive skin because it is easily irritated.
If you have sensitive skin, it is important to be gentle with your skin and to use products that are designed for sensitive skin. You should also avoid using harsh chemicals and abrasive ingredients, which can further irritate your skin.
Find out what products are safe for your sensitive skin type
There are many different types of products that are safe for sensitive skin. You can find gentle face wash, moisturizers, sunscreens, and other skincare products that are less likely to cause irritation or allergic reactions.
When shopping for skincare products, be sure to read the labels carefully and look for words like "gentle," "for sensitive skin" or "fragrance-free".
Avoid using too many products in your skincare routine. Products containing a single active ingredient like "20% Vitamin C", might not be the best idea for sensitive skin because your skincare regimen will end up having several steps!
It is worth finding multitasking products that do the work of several different products in order to avoid unnecessary exposure to filler ingredients, solvents and preservatives that are present in every skincare product.
For example: using by using our Hydrate, Soothe and Glow Kit you get the concentrated actives of a water based skin serum which you can combine as needed with a face oil to provide essential lipids to your skin. The same two products can also be used in the daytime to protect your skin and at night to help refresh and restore your skin. Good for your skin and your wallet!
Create a skincare routine that works for you!
When it comes to taking care of sensitive skin, it's important to be gentle!
Here is a suggested morning and evening skincare routine that should be easy on your skin:
Evening skincare routine for sensitive skin:
1. Wash your face with a gentle cleanser. Use a soap-free foaming cleanser if your skin is oily or a cleansing oil if your face tends to be dry.
2. While your skin is still damp, but not wet, apply a fragrance-free serum moisturizer that contains high molecular weight hyaluronic acid, Probiotic lysates, soothing vitamins like Niacinamide (vitamin B3), Panthenol (Vitamin B5) along with skin soothers and antioxidants. Our Hindre Face Serum contains all of these skin goodies that are great for the care and protection of sensitive skin.
3. Follow this up with a drop or two of quality, fragrance-free face oil. This will provide much-needed omega fatty acids to the skin, which the skin cannot make on it's own.
We recommend our Stell fragrance-free face oil that contains a balance of essential fatty acids that the skin needs for nourishment. It is also fragrance-free.
Avoid using harsh ingredients like alcohol or fragrance or too many unnecessary products in your nighttime routine.
Morning skincare routine for sensitive skin:
1. If your face is oily from the night before then wash your face with a gentle cleanser. Otherwise, just leave your skin the way it is.
2. If you see dry spots, use a bit of a gentle face moisturizer or serum.
3. Wait until your skincare is absorbed and then use sunblock followed by any makeup, if you use makeup. You are ready to face the day!
Weekly deep care and exfoliation for sensitive skin
Exfoliation is important when you are using skincare products as this helps products penetrate your skin better and give you better results.
When you have sensitive skin it can be a challenge to find products that can exfoliate without causing irritation.
🌿 Try gentle scrubs that are safe for sensitive skin and contain non-abrasive grains, like jojoba beads.
🌿 If you like using a clay mask, look for one that contains kaolin clay, which is the gentlest clay suited for sensitive skin.
Before you use the mask, do a through face massage using a quality fragrance-free face oil like our Stell Face oil. This will give your skin a soft, long-lasting glow.
Protect your skin from environmental factors like sun exposure, pollution, and windburn
Sun exposure, pollution and windburn can all be tough on your skin. Here are a few tips to help you protect your skin from these environmental factors:

☘️ Avoid going outside during peak hours (10am-2pm) when the sun's UV rays are strongest.
☘️ Wear a hat and sunglasses to protect your face and eyes from the sun.
☘️ Limit time spent in the city, as the air pollution can be bad for your skin. Try to stay indoors as much as possible when pollution levels are hight or bring a mask with you when you go out.
